Fatter, meatier tone with more drive and attack. The Burstbucker™ Pro humbucker™ enhances the vintage ”edge” of Gibson’s popular Burstbucker pickups with the added feature of an Alnico 5 magnet. The Burstbucker Pro’s characteristic sweet harmonic complexity and crystalline clarity derive from its slightly unbalanced coil windings. Alnico 5 magnets are used in place of the traditional Alnico 2, yielding a fatter, meatier tone with more drive and attack, providing classic Gibson Patent Applied For tone with a hint of attitude. Wax potting keeps things quiet even with a high-gain rig.

Nell’officina dello stabilimento Gibson originale di Kalamazoo, nel Michigan, i primissimi humbucker Patent Applied For Gibson sono stati avvolti utilizzando macchinari imprecisi, creando dei pickup con diversi livelli di output e suono. Burstbucker™ Type 1 presenta un output inferiore, eccellente per la posizione al manico. Burstbucker Type 2 presenta un output medio ed è perfetto per entrambe le posizioni. Since their introduction in the 1950s, Gibson’s famous ”Patent Applied For” humbucker™ pickups have been considered the ultimate pickup because of their smooth, velvety tone. The ’57 Classic Plus uses slightly overwound coils, exactly like the original Patent Applied For humbuckers of the late 1950s that accidentally received a few additional turns of wire. The balanced coils of the ’57 Classic Plus give them a warm, creamy tone. They are the perfect bridge-position companion to the ’57 Classic, delivering just a little more of ”the sweet stuff” without sacrificing any of the rich vintage tone.

Each ’57 Classic Plus humbucker™ features the same enamel-like coated wiring, Alnico 2 magnet, and maple spacers as in the original models, achieving a creamy, smooth output that sounds rich and full whether they’re being played clean or overdriven. The ’57 Classic Plus pickups are so authentic that they even carry the original Patent Applied For decal on the baseplate. All of them come with braided, two-conductor wiring and are fully wax potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback.
