Original Fender design in concert with modern appointments and a custom Journeyman Relic® finish make the Limited Edition ’62/’63 Strat® a timeless one-of-a-kind tool for players, pros and collectors alike. Created in the Fender Custom Shop, this road-worthy stage companion features Custom Shop hand-wound ’60/’63 Strat® pickups, which are wound to the exact specs from those formidable years that burned the Stratocaster into the history of music forever. A combination of features from this transitional period are wide 12th fret dot spacing, pickguard screw spacing and a round-lam fingerboard.

The two-piece alder body wears a nitro lacquer Journeyman Relic® finish, while the tinted rift-sawn maple neck sports a ’63 ”C” profile, round-lam rosewood fingerboard, 7.25”-9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 medium vintage frets. Vintage modified #2 wiring with tone-saver treble bleed gives the player ability to roll off volume without losing delicate highs. Other features include five-way pickup switching, vintage synchronized tremolo and tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree with metal spacer. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

The Limited Edition Roasted ’61 Strat Super Heavy Relic embodies everything that made 1961 such a special year, with some bad-to-the-bone modifications found only in the Fender Custom Shop that will entice the most discerning player. A super-heavy relic lacquer finish imparts the look and feel of a guitar that has relentlessly lit up stage after stage for many years. Its two-piece select alder body (ash on aged natural finish model) is roasted to create a rich dark color and to simulate a guitar that has aged with a decrease in wood moisture content and an increase in sustain.

The tinted and roasted quartersawn maple neck has a chunky custom large ”C” profile, topped by a 9.5”-radius flat-lam rosewood fingerboard with 21 jumbo (6100) frets. Hot hand-wound Texas Special pickups provide searing tone, with five-way switching and a Strat ”1/2 blender” wiring, which lets players blend the neck and bridge pickup in switch positions 1 and 2.

Other features include a three-ply mint green pickguard, Custom Shop vintage-style synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree with metal spacer. Also includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

New for 2023, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the Limited Edition Roasted ‘50s Strat Deluxe Closet Classic. Its two-piece select roasted alder body wears Deluxe Closet Classic lacquer finishes in Faded Aged Seafoam Green, Faded Aged Tahitian Coral, Faded Aged Sonic Blue and Aged Wide-Fade Two-Color Sunburst. This finely aged finish treatment imparts the look of a guitar owned with pride, well cared for and religiously polished over many years. Moderate finish checking and hardware oxidization, along with mild parts discoloration, combine into the distinct look and feel of an instrument that has evolved into something complex and refined.
The one-piece 4A roasted flame maple neck has our distinct 10/56 ”V” back-shape and is topped with a 9.5” to 12” compound radius and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets for an incredibly comfortable feel while playing first-position chords and effortless mobility navigating the upper register. Under the hood is a special combination of a Custom Shop hand-wound El Diablo Strat bridge pickup and a pair of Custom Shop hand-wound Ancho Poblano Strat pickups for a wide range of overwound, high-output tones with sparkly highs, full-throated midrange and tight lows.

The Fender Custom Limited-edition ’67 HSS Stratocaster represents a seriously hot-rodded take on vintage Strat style, sporting a spec sheet that marks the halfway point between modern shred machine performance and golden-era Fender flair. The bones of this guitar — including a 2-piece select alder body, a 1965 Strat ”C” profile quarter-sawn maple neck, and a round-lam rosewood fingerboard — all slot perfectly into the standard late-1960s Stratocaster mold. However, the neck’s 12-inch radius and 21 jumbo-sized frets scream modern playability, supplying a speedy feel and smooth foundation to pick out expressive leads and massive fret-out-free bends. To pair with this Strat’s supercharged performance, the Fender Custom Shop equipped the Limited-edition ’67 HSS Stratocaster Relic with an equally powerful pickup configuration: two modern multi-magnet Dual-Mag II single-coils and a ripping bridge-position Shawbucker 1 humbucker. New for 2024, the Fender Custom Shop introduces the 1959 Stratocaster® Journeyman Relic®. The two-piece select alder body wears Journeyman Relic® lacquer finishes in Super Faded Aged Shell Pink, Super Faded Aged Sonic Blue, Faded Aged Sea Foam Green and Faded Aged Sherwood Green Metallic for the authentically worn-in look and feel of a family heirloom instrument that’s been handed down through the years.
Classic appointments from the end of the decade are featured up and down the guitar: quartersawn maple neck with ’59-style ”D” back-shape and flat-laminated rosewood fingerboard bring out the best in tone and playability. Armed with a trio of Custom Shop hand-wound Fat ‘50s Stratocaster® pickups, Vintage Modified #2 wiring and Tone-Save bleed circuitry, there’s no shortage of sought after golden era tone.
