Gibson LG-2 All Mahogany Faded Natural
Small body, big, rich sound
The Gibson LG-2 was first introduced in 1942 during the ”Banner” era and quickly became a beloved small-body acoustic guitar model that was renowned for its big sound. The LG-2 was initially released with mahogany backs and sides paired with red spruce tops, but due to wartime shortages, material substitutions were common. Gibson sometimes used maple backs and sides, and LG-2 models with mahogany tops were also produced. Now, Gibson is proud to introduce the new LG-2 All-Mahogany Faded, a modern reinterpretation of those all-mahogany vintage LG-2 models. The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is constructed using solid mahogany for the back and sides, as well as a solid mahogany soundboard. The mahogany top is reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing, and the body features simple black binding on the top and back. The mahogany neck features a Historic V profile and is attached to the body using a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint. The neck is capped with an unbound rosewood fretboard, which is equipped with 20 standard frets and adorned with classy yet straightforward mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is fitted with a sloped, rectangular, closed-slot bridge made from rosewood. The bridge features a bone nut, which is also made of bone, while the bridge pins are TUSQ®. Grover® strap tuners with white buttons ensure solid tuning stability and, along with the teardrop pickguard, add to the instrument’s vintage charm.The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded’s all-mahogany top and body give it a warmer, rounder, and smoother sound than a guitar with a similar size and a spruce top, making it an ideal choice for folk, blues, and fingerstyle playing. The LG-2 All Mahogany Faded’s smaller dimensions also make it easier to hold than acoustic guitars with larger bodies. In a nod to the needs of modern performers and recording guitarists, the LG-2 All Mahogany Faded is factory-equipped with an L.R. Baggs™ VTC under-saddle transducer and built-in preamp. The L.R. Baggs VTC system features soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls that are quick and easy for the player to access while remaining all but invisible to the audience. The inclusion of high-quality discreet electronics makes the LG-2 All Mahogany Faded stage and studio-ready from the moment you take it out of the included Gibson hardshell case, while taking nothing away from its attractive, vintage-inspired character and vibe. Il triplo sensore migliora la risposta quando si preme ripetutamente lo stesso tasto, e consente di sovrapporre gradualmente il suono di una singola nota senza che la precedente venga persa. Il 1968 fu un anno di transizione per gli amplificatori Fender, con una timbrica ancora tipicamente Fender, ma un design assolutamente nuovo. Con un pannello frontale argento e turchese e un’elegante finitura con tela a griglia nota come ”drip edge” (per via del profilo in alluminio tra il pannello e la griglia anteriore), il Twin Reverb ha subito un completo rinnovamento del design, pur rimanendo l’amplificatore di appoggio di elezione per professionisti e dilettanti in tutto il mondo. Cristallino, profondo e potente, produceva un timbro valvolare potente con il riverbero e gli effetti di vibrato ineguagliabili Fender. Da allora, il Twin Reverb è stato l’amplificatore di riferimento per il suono Fender classico, adottato da moltissimi chitarristi.
L’amplificatore ’68 Custom Twin Reverb è un omaggio alla classicità del design, del suono e delle prestazioni degli amplificatori silver panel dei tardi anni ’60. Con una modifica speciale, entrambi i canali vantano riverbero e tremolo e il canale ”personalizzato” presenta un controllo di tono Bassman® modificato che conferisce agli strumentisti moderni una maggiore flessibilità timbrica con i pedali. L’amplificatore presenta inoltre un attacco del guadagno più rapido e una riduzione del feedback negativo per una maggiore sensibilità al tocco. I due coni da 12” Celestion® G12V-70 del ’68 Custom Twin Reverb offrono inoltre un carattere più spiccatamente rock’n’roll.
